Atomic Polls Accessibility

Atomic Polls provides text alternatives to non-text content, and provides the ability to attach text content to user-generated non-text content.

Atomic Polls does not contain audio-only or video-only content. Users are responsible for accessibility of content they upload, and Atomic Polls does support adding captions and transcripts.

Atomic Polls does not contain audio or video by default. Users are responsible for accessibility of content they upload.

Atomic Polls maintains consistent structures allowing correct reading sequences to be programmatically determined. One known exception is the multi-question navigation but will be fixed in the next release.

Atomic Polls functionality is keyboard-operable. One known exception is the Live Results toggle, but it will be fixed in the next release.

Atomic Polls does not trap focus when navigating by keyboard.

2.1.4 Character Key Shortcuts (Level A 2.1 only)

Atomic Polls does not use custom keyboard shortcuts.

2.2.1 Timing Adjustable (Level A)

Atomic Polls does not have time-limited content, but does have a setting that automatically switches to a new question after a user-selected amount of time. The user is not restricted from navigating back, but there is no way to prevent the switch at this time.

2.2.2 Pause, Stop, Hide (Level A)

Atomic Polls does not contain moving, blinking, or scrolling content.

2.3.1 Three Flashes or Below Threshold (Level A)

Atomic Polls does not contain any blinking content.

2.4.1 Bypass Blocks (Level A)

Atomic Polls does not have a skip link but repeated controls are minimal and easy to bypass. A skip link is in our roadmap.

2.4.2 Page Titled (Level A)

Atomic Polls has appropriate titles to describe their purpose.

2.4.3 Focus Order (Level A)

Navigating Atomic Polls by keyboard or screen reader occurs in consistent and logical sequence.

2.4.4 Link Purpose (In Context) (Level A)

The purpose of each link in Atomic Polls is clearly identified by its text, supplemented with labels when necessary.

2.4.5 Multiple Ways (Level AA)

Atomic Polls pages can be navigated in multiple ways.

2.4.6 Headings and Labels (Level AA)

Atomic Polls pages contain a single H1 header describing the purpose of its content, and additional headers maintain logical structure.

2.4.7 Focus Visible (Level AA)

Focus is consistently visible throughout Atomic Polls when navigated by keyboard. There some instances in the current release where you can focus hidden elements, but this is will be fixed in the next release.

2.5.1 Pointer Gestures (Level A 2.1 only)

Atomic Polls does not require navigation by multipoint or path-based gestures.

2.5.2 Pointer Cancellation (Level A 2.1 only)

No actions in Atomic Polls complete on mouse-down, and thus can be aborted by moving the mouse away from the button or target area before mouse-up.

2.5.3 Label in Name (Level A 2.1 only)

Atomic Polls visible and accessible labels match, and any controls that use icons or symbols are given consistent labels.

2.5.4 Motion Actuation (Level A 2.1 only)

Atomic Polls does not contain any motion operations.

3.1.1 Language of Page (Level A)

All Atomic Polls pages contain a defined language value.

3.1.2 Language of Parts (Level AA)

Multi-language content is not provided by Atomic Polls. Users are responsible for accessibility of content they upload, and user-generated content can be supplemented with appropriate HTML language tags.

Moving focus when navigating Atomic Polls never results in an action or change of context.

Modifying input fields in Atomic Polls does not automatically initiate any action or navigation. One issue is known that will be fixed, refer to 2.2.1.

Atomic Polls contains consistent navigation patterns across all pages and content.

Atomic Polls components are labeled and behave consistently across the application.

Atomic Polls UI components use HTML and ARIA best practices. There is one toggle that is using the wrong html elements that will be fixed in the next release.

Updates to content, status changes, and notifications that display visually have corresponding audio announcements for screen readers.
